Sitka is a guitar tuner and songwriting app. It has no accounts, no analytics and no servers. This policy is short because there is very little to describe.
Nothing. Sitka has no account system, asks for no personal information, and sends nothing to us or to anyone else. We run no servers and receive no data from the app. We cannot see your songs, your tunings or your practice history, because none of it leaves your phone.
Sitka needs microphone access to measure the pitch of your guitar or your voice. That is the only reason it asks for it.
Audio is analysed as it arrives and discarded immediately. Sitka does not record audio, does not save audio to a file, and does not transmit audio anywhere. What survives a moment of listening is a pitch measurement — a number — and nothing else.
Sitka listens only while a screen that needs the microphone is open. There is no background listening and no foreground service. Leave that screen and the microphone is released.

This lives in the app's private area, readable only by Sitka. It is not uploaded anywhere, and it is not included in your phone's automatic cloud backup — Sitka switches that off deliberately, so your lyrics are never copied somewhere you did not choose. Uninstalling Sitka deletes all of it.
Because nothing is uploaded, a backup is something you make on purpose. Setup → Backup writes one file holding your songs, tunings, practice history and settings, and hands it to Android's share sheet — mail it to yourself, or keep it wherever you keep things. The same screen restores from that file. It is plain readable text, so you can open it and see exactly what is in it.
That file is the only copy of your work outside the app, and you choose where it goes.
Sitka can hand a song to Android's share sheet, so you can mail it to yourself or save it wherever you keep things. When you do that you choose the destination and the file goes there directly. Nothing is sent to us, and Sitka is not involved after the hand-off.
The version of Sitka on Google Play is built without Android's internet permission. It cannot make a network connection at all.
Sitka is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone, of any age.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
